Brown remains committed to SDSU

Despite starting out the season 5-1, Vincent Brown and his Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High will have to fight their way into the playoffs.

After losing back-to-back conference games, the Cougars will need to close out the season with wins at Claremont and at Los Osos.

Claremont has struggled to a 2-6 record but Los Osos will provide a difficult challenge.

"The season has been going real good for me [on an individual basis]," Brown said. "I have been playing all over the place; at receiver, quarterback, punter, punt return and kick return."

San Diego State's only known commitment from the Class of 2007, Brown has taken the two hour trek down I-15 three times this fall to watch the Aztecs play.

"It been good because it has given me a chance to get to know the coaches even better and get a chance to learn more about the program and the team," he said.

"I still talk to Coach [LeCharls] McDaniels about every week. He wants me to be ready so I get there they can get me going in the offense pretty early."

Despite being committed to San Diego State since late June, a number of other programs have inquired about Brown. "A few schools starting calling me, like Utah," he said. "And I believe Cal has some interest. But at the moment I am not thinking about it (taking other official visits)."

Brown plans to take his official visit to San Diego State sometime in December after the season.
