Lufkin junior makes trip to Kyle Field
Lufkin High School has been friendly to Texas A&M over the past few years with current players Jorvorskie Lane, Alton Dixon and E.J. Shankle coming out of the East Texas school. However, perhaps the best prospect the school has ever produced is still a junior in high school.
Jamarkus McFarland, a 6-foot-3, 280 pound defensive tackle, made the trip with several teammates to watch Texas A&M host Oklahoma State this past Saturday. While it was the second time the class of 2009 prospect has been to a game at Kyle Field, he says it would be hard to beat the excitement of the Aggies 24-23 win over the Cowboys.
McFarland has received several written offers since September 1, but he maintains that he is completely open to every school at this point. His offers are from Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Florida and Oklahoma State.
