Here is Volume 7 of our weekly look at the game changers and big daddy's of the grid iron. Not by any means a complete list but a heck of a lot of fun to ponder. Some great game changing performances. This was a big week as many teams pinned down their playoff spots and others fought just to stay alive! Great job boys and we expect to see more of these great efforts again next week.
Austin Denton; Marysville-Pilchuck: This cat rumbled for 323 Yards and broke the rushing record. The record had been set in 1996 by Kyle Woods with 1688 yards. denton has 1919 yards so far this year! WOW.
Derek Swearingen; Grandview HIgh School: 1st start as quarterback as a freshman. 6-11 for a 109 yards passing. had a lot of help from senior jacob massey with 236 yards rushing to open up passing game. grandview comes out on top 22-12.
Seth Kline; Eisenhower: Seth had another stellar evening at linebacker for the 9 and 0 Cadets. He continues to blow up the opposing offense! Seth led the team in tackles and sacks for the game. Let's just say that the offense doesn't like to make eye contact!
Joe Fuerst; Eisenhower: Joe Fuerst had another solid night contributing to his teams 9 and 0 season. Joe had 215 yards on 19 carries and one td. He broke the schools record for all-time single season rushing with 1,418 for the year and total TD's with 18.
Diondre Toms; Lindbergh High School: Diondre Toms is quite the athlete he was outstanding. He's really going to be a top 2011 player in the state and hopefully in the country at 6'1 170 with excellent speed with crazy hitting power. On Friday he had 13 tackles 2 knockdowns, 2 interceptions, and 3 tackles for loss. Finished the year off with 3 interceptions, 7 touchdowns, 103 tackles, 5 forced fumbles, 6 tackles for loss, 98 rushing yards, 3 knockdowns 525 yards receiving.
Will Hoppes; Tri Cities Prep: Will Hoppes threw for 323 yards on 23-32 passing and 5 touchdowns. He also ran 17 times for 209 yards and 2 more scores.
Isaac Anderson; Prosser: Anderson who is a Sophomore broke the 1000 yard mark on the season, with 158 yards on 22 carries and 2 touchdowns in Prossers 53-7 win over Ephrata.
Ethan Sterkel; Ellensburg QB: Had 497 passing yards, set the kittitas valley record for most yards in a game. 5 touchdown passes!!
Andy Wetzel; Mead: In leading the Panthers to the #1 seed for 4A playoffs vs. CV, hit on 13-20 attempts for 211 yards and 4 TD's. He is a Sophomore.
Mitchell Tripp; Meridian: He had 7 catches for 159 yards and three tds. Broke the school record for career receptions and tds. And still has another year.
Josh Tyler; Montesano: Another perfect game for this QB, passer rating of 158.33.
Trevor Hurn; Woodland: The QB had 22-34 for 325 yards 4 touchdown!!
