It was just two days ago that Myles Jack of Bellevue committed to UCLA ending his wild recruitment. That made Jack the second Wolverine to commit before this year gets started as he followed stud linebacker Sean Constantine who locked himself into the UW already this year. Now a third student athlete from Bellevue High School has made his choice and while it happened with little fan fare it is just as awesome!
Corner – Wide Receiver Reuben Mwehla has been offered by the Idaho Vandals and after taking a day to mull it over he has decided to go for it.
"I committed to Idaho for my college choice," said Reuben who was floating at the thought of getting his college paid for and the chance to play at a school like that.
Why Idaho?
"I felt welcomed there and they know how to be a family. I'm going in there as an athlete so either corner or wide receiver is where I am going to play most likely," he offered.
Family. Something they know an awful lot about at Bellevue. No matter the talent, which is always good at Bellevue, the Family aspects seem to be a part of the football program which has transcended good and moved into the Legendary realm. Reuben is just one example of the high caliber of students and athletes that the program is comprised of.
Mwehla impressed us last season as we watched him in games and really has a full compliment of skills. There is nothing he does not do well. Most of all he brings the passion and the attitude you want in a football player and is confident in his abilities.
This seems to be a perfect fit for him and there is no doubt he seemed settled in this move.
"That is good people up there in Idaho," said Reuben saying he has visited and that he was offered based on his film and the information the Coaches had reviewed.
We congratulate Reuben Mwehla and the Bellevue Wolverines as well as the Idaho Vandals for continuing to come after the best of the Northwest further proving they are hot on our local kids. Something that is crucial to the process of getting our High School Players off to colleges.
