The Camas Papermakers have moved up from the 3A Ranks to the 4A.  A step up that for many programs means a step down while they build into the ranks of the larger classification.  Someone forget to tell these guys as they are serving notice as a power to be reckoned with in their first year.

Coach John Eagle is one of the great coaches in the State.  His record is proven.  And while he has often had very talented teams there is more going on here then football talent.  Ultimately this come down to team work and a "We" over "Me" mentality.  This band of brothers play together and support each other in a way that few do.

Then there is the Community of Camas.  Talk about support!  If you have not been to a game at Doc Harris stadium you need to.  No matter where your from this experience from the Band to the Cheer squad to the fans to the massive inflatable Papermaker….well we had to check ourselves and make sure we were not in Texas on a Friday Night.

In the win Friday over Auburn Mountain View the boys in Black showed up big.  It was 45-0 before the Lions put up two late scores.

Led by big time Junior Reilly Hennessey who was 20-26 for 301 yards and 2 TD's (No Ints.) the game was never in question.

Even more impressive was the play of the Papermakers defense who stifled AMV QB Domenic Rockey pickling him off 3 times.  Two of those at the hands of Junior Zach Eagle who was simply amazing to watch both sides of the ball.

Then there was an amazing moment in the 3rd quarter that was foretold perhaps early in the game.  Kicker Roland Alcobendas had put every kick but one deep into the end zone as the game progressed.   But when he lined up for a 52 yard field goal in the 3rd period it was a moment to see.

Not only did he drill that kick for 52 yards and 3 points he had room to spare.  This kick was good for a school record and one of the longest field goals in State history.

Nate Beasley, John Norcross, and Jack Beall among others also scored for the Camas squad in the effort.

They move to 3-0 and have outscored opponents 139-41 this season.

Notice served.  If your in the 4A be ready if you face them.  Your going to want to bring your "A" Game!
