Eastlake High School has been putting out some mighty fine football players these past few years. And in the last 3 or 4 it has had a lot to do with the Lewis Family. We covered Ryan Lewis a couple years back from the first day he hit the Nike Camp as a Sophomore to the day he left for Pitt where he is now a rising star player. When Ryan left a big old hole was left to fill. That happened because Ryan ran for 1750 yards and 28 TD’s his Senior season and led the Region in yards per carry at 9.5.
Filling that hole are the 2 younger Lewis boys. Troy and Drew. Both kids are fine athletes and very talents. Drew had a break out year last season as a Junior and is considered one of the top Free Safeties in the West. Last season he had almost 1000 yards and 14 TD’s rushing and also added 35 tackles for loss, 6 pass deflections, and 2 Interceptions. Catch his film right here.
6’3″ – 200 lbs Drew Lewis is wide, fast, and a big time hitter.
The kid is a big time player for sure. Maybe the best defense of that statement is the 8 offers he has.
Pitt, Washington State, Arizona State, Montana, Wyoming, Air Force, Oregon State, and Washington have all pledged their offers. He was convincing enough last season that he was honored by all of those fine schools.
A while back he pledged himself to Washington. The Huskies are going to keep one of the Top Players in the State home. And that should be a very very good thing for the Lewis family.
Why the UW?
He and Troy will be big factors this season for Eastlake and we are excited to see what they can do. Troy looked great at Camps this Summer and while his brothers offers might shadow him a little right now we think coaches and programs will be wise to keep an eye on this Lewis too.
The family has some serious football genes. Consider this:
The guys can play. Will, their Dad, is a superb guy who we have met and appreciated as an NFL Front Office guy. We have not met the Sister but we know Mom. Kimmberly Prosise-Lewis. She makes the whole thing work over at the Lewis house. And boys does it work!
Great Family and great story of football and success. Keep it positive people!
Troy, Will, Ryan, and Drew Lewis (Left to Right) have impacted the football world in a positive way in Washington. Off the field they have down even more!
