Grandview defeated Davis 81-72 to win its own late summer classic. Grandview trailed most of the game but tenacious D down the stretch led to a big run. Nick Sears, I would guess, was the tourney MVP with his usual strong inside play and hustle. Marty Guillen was awesome running the point, Rogi Fajardo stroked the threes and Eric Rodriguez and Matt Concienne were big time contributors on both ends of the floor in the starting line up as well. Chris Hernandez, Gerardo Ramirez, Stevie Jimenez, and George Magana contributed greatly off the bench. Grandview earlier defeated Vashon Island in the semifinals in overtime. Davis won two buzzer beaters over Fort Vancouver and Othello to reach the championship game. Vashon was leading Othello by 16 last I heard in the consolation game.
