Zach Eagle Of Camas High School Goes For EWU

When your last name is Eagle and your star QB and lifetime pal is committed to the Eastern Washington Eagles it is sort of a no brainer. That is partly why crafty and gifted Zach Eagle of Camas High School, son of legendary coach Jon Eagle, is heading to EWU next season. Zach was one of the most complete and most productive players we have watched over the past 2 seasons and if he was any taller then 5'8″ he would be a Pac 12 guy. But hey he is so happy to be playing for a National Title contender like EWU that he did not really need much time when they offered. He was all in.

Zach Eagle did everything for the Camas Papermakers and then some. One of the best 2 way stars in the region will now move on to play for EWU!

"I'm really excited about playing up in Cheney. They have a great program and I'm looking forward to being a part of it. I'll be playing receiver and special teams," said Zach.

He will join Reilly Hennesey from Camas who has been his QB for the past several years and the two could really do some damage in the years ahead. Zach is great in the slot and runs superb routes in traffic and always finds the seam or a space in the defense where he can catch the ball. Once he does his feet and speed do the rest!

The Papermakers were on the loosing end of that thriller in the Tacoma Done last weekend loosing with no time left on the clock as the Chiawana Riverhawks came from behind in miraculous fashion to win by 1. Zach, who has rarely missed a play, had to sit through most of this game with a severe injury that equates to a broken collar bone. How one of the best weapons that Camas has felt as he had to sit and watch the perfect season end that way is hard to fathom. Hard for anyone to imagine how any of them felt.

"Yeah it was tough, but this week all of the guys have come together. Just being there for one another has helped," said Zach adding, "It was extremely hard because Iwanted to have an impact and help my team. I have never really watched a game so it was pretty different for me."

One thing is for sure. The boys of Camas coming back next season will be ready to make another run and they are deep but will have some big shoes to fill. Coach Eagle will be able to load up his family and go watch Zach and Reilly play the next few seasons up in Cheney and it just seems like a great fit all the way around and we could not be happier. Congrats to Camas Football and the whole community and top Zach Eagle for working so hard to get his chance!
