Dockery A True Talent That is Undeniable

The football season is still months away but offers have begun to fly. Coaches and their staffs are looking for the next great thing. In their eternal quest to build a championship team they need the essential components.
The #1 thing we hear coaches say is that that want speed over all else. Not projected speed or unverified hand timed 40 speed. Real speed. Visible. Proven. Palpable.

Add to that strength and resilience and you have the making of a great football player. These are the exact skills that make Curtis High star Rahmel Dockery such a hot prospect.
Dockery was unstoppable at times last year. His Junior Stats impressive. He is very much like All American Keanon Lowe of Jesuit in Portland last year. Look at these numbers.
Junior Year Stats:
1,077 receiving yards
14 touchdowns on 36 receptions
21 Rushes, 211 yards, 2 td's
11 Punt returns, 211 yards, 1 TD
10 Kickoff returns, 385 yards, 2 TD's
23 Total Touchdowns
That is 1,884 yards all purpose. This did not include the playoff game against State Champs Skyline. Curtis had a perfect record going into that game.
Rahmel has true speed. A legit 4.4 speedster. And boy he can jump. He took second in the State Long Jump at 7'0", second in the State Long Jump, and he won the State 200 meters last year.
"This year I am going to try and win all three. I have a shot and will work my very best to do it," said Dockery.
He loves football and based upon his current offers from Washington State and Idaho that appears to be how he will get college paid for.
"I hope to play football and compete in track too. That is a goal for me."
He is not only fast but has a toughness about him. At 5'10" and 168 he is not physically imposing but he is tough to bring down. His leg strength is extraordinary. Those skills and his jumping translate to success on the football field.
"I am going to work on my football IQ. I admit to being a bit of a day dreamer. But my speed and toughness allow me to do a lot of things. This year I am dedicated to being a smarter player."
He is a funny kid. Off the field he says he is known for his ability to "sleep". That and he and his pal QB Tyler Jamison, Jr. hang out a lot.
"Not a weekend goes by without Tyler and I getting together to play catch. It is great."
Now looking ahead he is hearing from Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Texas, and Stanford. He is very relaxed and happy with the offers he has.
"I have a lot of friends going to WSU and I like it there. I can see myself there. But I better focus on track and see what else comes up," he added.
Dockery is not really planning an aggressive schedule this Summer but says he may drop in on a Summer camp or a combine or two.
"Next year is going to be great. We only lost two Seniors and have a great group coming in. So this should be a fun Senior year!"
Rahmel Dockery is one of the fastest most explosive athletes in the Pacific Northwest. It will be fun to watch him this year and see where his recruiting path takes him. Watch this film and see what real speed looks like!
