Play Offs In Review and More

The Football playoffs were in full swing in week three and we saw some amazing kids and amazing games for sure. One of the things we have done is try and keep all of you, our readers, up to date and knowledgeable about what teams and players are still in this thing.
There is really nothing like it. Week after week, night after night these kids and coaches stay at it. We see teams rise and fall at this time of year. Sometimes injury and illness as well as fatigue set in and a team just seems to fade.

Other times we see a team that the experts thought were a pretender become a contender. Then there are the power house obvious choices...many of whom made it through to the next rounds.
We have been keeping track of the rounds and the scores and we take a couple hours every weekend to put this all in one place. Tough to look forward sometimes without looking back. Here is the link to that page on our site and this is all linked and discussed in our red hot Forums as well.

Now that we know who is in for the next round lets take a quick look at some of the games that really caught our attention this weekend.
In 1 A Football Action: Cascade Christian upset #1 Montesano with a gritty performance 13-12. Montesano had been #1 on and off all year. They went for a two point conversion late in the game after a score but came up just short. CC went on to hold them off and now has punched their ticket to the next round. Also in 1 A Action who could believe the story of the Nooksack Valley Pioneers who came back form being down 27 points to beat Kings 54-47. The are riding the wave of support they are giving to Raise 7 For Matthew ; a tribute started by washingtonpreps.com for Matthew Newman the injured HIghland High Quarterback as he tries to overcome a horrible concussion, Thanks guys for the support and wow what a big win! See www.raise7formatthew.com to get involved and read the entire story right here. Chelan the Cinderella of the 1A Playoffs beat Omak 27-22 in a thriller.
In 2A Football Action: The only close game was Arch Bishop Murphy who won 14-7 over a tough WF West Team. Alex Martinez ran for 130 yards in the win for ABM.

In 3A Football; The Game of the night was Liberty over Lindbergh in a Triple OT Thriller; 20-17. This game is best seen on video where the highlights are available:
In 4A Football: Eisenhower fell to Ferris 24-14 after the questionable eviction of Ike star running back Joe Fuerst who was ejected for  supposedly kicking at a defender during a pile up at the end of a play.  Fuerst told us he was simply trying to free his foot from a defender who was twisting it and trying to inflict damage at the bottom of the pile.  The official probably should have thrown an flag for unsportsmenlike conduct.  To eject the Offensive player of the year for this type of call seemed unwarranted and certainly changed the course of that game as the Cadets were driving the ball and threatening to take the lead at that point in the second quarter.  Alas we will never know what could have happened had he remained in the game.
Bothell won big over Issy and Skyline rolled Curtis.
The Game of the weekend was the 34-21 win by Skyview over No.3 Auburn. The Storm behind Austin Dodge are doing very special things. This next weeks game against Ferris should be a real beauty.
The teams all now Move on the quarter finals. The Championships will be in two weeks and everyone is anticipating the rematch between Jake Heaps and the Skyline Spartans and the Blue Train of Bothell who beat Skyline 25-20 earlier this year. Make sure to check out our Play Off Central where we are tracking all the games from all the rounds and levels. This is truly a great year for Washington Prep Football! PLAY OFF CENTRAL HERE
